Dear friends,

VATSIM Moscow Air Traffic Control Center is opening the new season of events, and as tradition goes, the first autumn real-ops will take place at Moscow’s oldest airport — Vnukovo.

Vnukovo Airport appeared in 1941 as a military airfield and soon became one of the main gateways of the capital. In 1956, the first Soviet jet service with a Tu-104 to Irkutsk departed from here. Today Vnukovo is a modern hub handling up to 24 million passengers annually, with hundreds of flights across Russia, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

This Vnukovo Real-Ops will be held in the one-room control format: the Moscow ATC team will gather in a gaming club and provide live ATC coverage for the real airport schedule during five exciting hours.

The highlight of this season is a rich schedule of international flights to Asia and the Middle East — expect busy skies and a truly dynamic event!

Please note that for this type of event a booking system is used, and booked slots will have priority over the others.

Pilots are allowed to change the nominated a/c type for the chosen flight for a similar one, e.g. change Airbus A32X family within the family types, or for Boeing 737 family or for Sukhoi Superjet 100.
