Tashkent International Airport, formerly known as Tashkent-South Airport, and today bearing the name of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, is the largest commercial airport in Uzbekistan. In comparison with the airports of neighboring countries, it has the most favorable geographical position, as it is located at the crossroads of air routes between Europe, America, Southeast Asia and the CIS countries.
