Description

Volgodonsk is a former airport of regional importance in the Rostov region. It is located in the Tsimlyansk district, on the northern outskirts of the city of Tsimlyansk and 18 kilometers northwest of Volgodonsk.

Volgodonsk airfield, Class B, was capable of receiving Tu-134, Yak-42 and all lighter aircraft, as well as helicopters of all types. The length of the runway is 2,200 m. Currently, it is not suitable for passenger transportation. It is used as a landing pad for aviation operations.

Features

The airfield was excluded from the state register of civil airfields as it had not been certified in accordance with the established procedure. The certificate of state registration and airworthiness of the airfield has been declared invalid. Currently it is not suitable for passenger transportation.
